| | This garden design started out addressing needs such as entertaining, being dog friendly, and a providing a place to grow some veggies. Towards the end of the design process the 'silent partner' admitted that the process had reminded him of his childhood passion, turtles.
The veg bed was abandoned and in it's place a turtle habitat was created. When I left after the installation the first four fragile turtles arrived and were being housed under lights in a second bedroom. Well, the childhood memory of good times turned into a hobby and when I returned 1 year later there were turtles on the deck, turtles on the roof, and the original habitat was full.
The 'silent partner' is silent no more and is now well known for his participation in the protection of endangered turtles. | |
