| | Lani and Kris wanted a garden but they have two children and live on a busy street corner. During the design stage, safety and privacy were the top priorities. They live in a friendly neighborhood so they didn't want to wall themselves out but they also had concerns for their autistic son. He could be a little unpredictable at times and his world needed to be very secure.

| | The vine over the gate and to the left is Passiflora vitifolia or 'Red Passion Vine'. It is an evergreen vine that performs well in part shade. This passion vine is a delight with it's broad deep green leaves set off by bright red flowers. The flower buds are super interesting with a transparent shell that has pronounced red veins. To the right, the garden is in more shade. The vine you see there is Akebia quinata or 'Five Finger Vine'. | |

| | Lani and Kris were very good about staying on top of their maintenance. Abutilon was a request of theirs, they just love it, but to look good, you need to irrigate and pinch, pinch, pinch. | |

| | A busy corner for sure, but this garden has an open flow and is safe and secure. | |
