David
and Paul's design started out addressing needs such as entertaining,
being dog friendly, and a providing a place to grow some veggies. But
before we finished Paul admitted that he had been reminded a childhood
passion and he wanted the design to include some turtle habitat.
The
vegetable bed was abandoned and in its place a turtle habitat was
created. When I left after the installation the first four fragile
turtles arrived and were being housed under lights in a second bedroom.
Well, the childhood memory of good times turned into a hobby and when I
returned 1 year later there were turtles on the deck, turtles on the
roof, and the original habitat was full.
Paul is now well known for his participation in the protection of endangered turtles.
